You will go from...
Feeling like you're always in a rush and running late to feeling like you have more than enough time and energy to do all of the things you want to do in life.
Constantly trying to make yourself smaller to "fit in" to... embracing your body and leaning into your expansiveness.
Being trapped in your brain, with its hyper-critical Inner Mean Girl voice to listening to your inner BFF, the one who not only sees how amazing you already are, but who has limitless ideas for where you can go.
you're sick and tired of feeling like you're hiding. When you get ready for work: your heart yearns to wear the bright red lipstick, but you stop yourself, thinking: "what will people think?!"
How many times have you paused during class, looked around your studio and thought "do I even fit in here? why am I never included in the group hangouts? am I not good enough?"
You watch your dance videos back and cringe every time: you can't stand watching yourself dance on video or in the mirror. You have such a strong vision in your head of what you want your dance to look like but it's just not there... it looks so flat. You want your dancing to look as alive as you feel when doing it!
Embodiment is an umbrella term used to describe a state of being in which you feel connected to your body and senses as well as your feelings without deconstructing them.
For example: butterflies in your stomach might be an embodiment of nerves about giving that presentation at work.
Reaching out to hold your partner's hand might be an embodiment of the desire to be close to them.
Most pole dancing teachers don't incorporate embodiment because it's complicated! It involves advanced training in the nervous system, trauma-informed care, and creating safe containers for all participants- regardless of background.
But complicated things are sometimes the most necessary. To get your movement going from flat to juicy, embodiment is what you need!
That's why I started coaching, to help you get there a hell of a lot faster than I did.
Over-thinking every dance: always thinking about what "to do" and can't get out of their head
Shows up and does what the instructor says, whether it works for their body or not. Constantly injured.
Trapped in "when/then" thinking: "when I lose the weight, then I'll be sexy." "when I've been dancing for 5 years, then I'll be able to perform on stage."
Completely obsessed with the opinions of others. Exhausted by the weight of thinking about what makes everyone else comfortable- even though they walk around profoundly uncomfortable.
Doesn't have to think while she dances, emphasizes "being" over "doing". Able to safely check in with herself, discern where she's at, and dance from that place.
Confidently modifies moves to make things work for her. Doesn't let pixels on a screen dictate her self worth. Inadvertently saves a $hit ton of time and money because she's not injured/worn out all of the time!
Knows she doesn't have to wait, everything she wants already lives inside of her. The magic, the strength, the confidence- they're already there! Does things she never dreamed imaginable.
"Good for you, but not for me" is her new mantra. Embodies healthy boundaries with everyone she loves. Not only does this make her dancing better, it makes her relationships better too.
you're a highly motivated self-starter who loves to take action and get results.
you're burnt out and bored of the regular schmegular pole dance world: you want deep connection, profound transformation, and a never ending supply of creativity within. You worry you're "too much" (spoiler: the world's just not enough.)
you already know or have a strong feeling that you've got some witchy tendencies- you want an opportunity to explore and play with those.
you're sick of wasting time and money on quick-fixes and shitty containers. You're ready to go all in to get what you want!
you're afraid to get deep with the darkest part of yourself. I'll be there to support you, but we gotta go there together.
you only prioritize learning a new trick every single class and it's super important for you to get a 30 second video of a "trick du jour" for social media.
you're not committed to the process. In order to get results, you gotta show up. You don't have to show up perfectly but we can't do the work together if we can't do the work- y'know? If you're in a season of your life where you can't consistently make and keep appointments- it's better to wait until you are.
I started pole dancing in 2011 and it changed my life. I'd never had access to that level of presence, joy, and empowerment ever before. Seemingly on parallel tracks, as I deepened my pole practice, my life expanded as well.
Until... they both didn't. I hit a wall in 2018. I was extremely depressed at my office job- like "crying at my desk" depressed. I felt trapped and stuck. I wanted to hide: I was wearing a lot of gray clothes and constantly worried I was being “too much”. I felt like I couldn’t show up as myself anywhere. Nowhere felt safe, I was constantly on edge. I couldn’t look at my face in the mirror too long without feeling awkward and uncomfortable.
A perfectionist and people pleaser, I wasn't getting any validation from work, which was new for me. I was seeking value and worth somewhere so I decided to hammer tricks. But I didn’t do it with a holistic eye and I ended up injuring myself. I had a shoulder tear so bad that I couldn’t even lift a water bottle.
I was hopeless, now the one thing I thought I had... I didn’t have anymore. Life felt completely out of control.
This is something I've seen so many of my students go through over my last 10+ years of teaching: They are sick of being on a hamster wheel, seeking validation only to end up injured and isolated.
There's a different way- one I used for myself and now guide my students through. Embodiment practices allow us to untie our self-worth from what we're “doing”. Students build up the somatic understanding of “being”, of rest, of play.
Through coaching with me, you'll reorient into curiosity and away from expectations. And that's when the magic really unfolds...
You'll stop caring so much about what people think and train in ways that feel good for you. Maybe that includes tricks or maybe it doesn't. Maybe it's dancing for yourself or maybe its dancing at work or for a partner. You get to decide.
Once you step into this world, the goodness will just keep on coming. You'll be confident and self-assured, making choices that make you feel good. And guess what? That'll magnetically pull your people to you.
Your people: your lovable krewe of misfits, artists, and change-makers will be drawn to you. Your relationships will deepen. You'll reach new heights of creativity: finally making that painting you've been carrying around in your head for years or picking up that camera that's collecting dust.
Everything will feel open and available to you.
It took me a long time to figure this out on my own and I want it to go faster for you. That's why I built this coaching practice.
I want your dancing to look how you want it to look- smooth, connected, flowy, present, and all the things but I really really want your life to look like that too. Mean it.

It's a choose your own adventure. Once you book your package, you'll get a questionaire to fill out and let me know what's been going on. Then we'll come up with goals together (either 2 month or 6 month goals depending which package you picked).
We will meet every other week-ish and move along on your goal. Depending on your goal depends how much time we'll spend moving vs. talking. Most sessions involve both.
Sessions are 75 minutes.
If you're in the New Orleans area, we can meet up in person (subject to studio availability). Otherwise I host all meetings on Zoom.
You do not need a pole! If you're comfortable moving on the floor, a chair, or the couch then we are good to go.
You don't need to be a dancer but you need to be interested in movement. If you're not interested in embodying your creative process, then someone else would be a better fit!
Both! It's less about what we're working on and more about how. The process we use in sessions can be used anywhere and everywhere.
I'll be honest here, most pole dancers regardless of "level" need to refine their technique on the basics. If you're interested in becoming a more versatile, skillful pole dancer: we'll probably need to do some of that.
Again, your goals matter here. I can build you sequences we work on together or if you're interested in learning how to freestyle, we can do that too. Many students come to me to deepen a performance piece they already have choreographed. We'll break your choreo down step by step and have it looking jaw-droppingly stunning!
Of course you can! Books and workbooks are excellent resources. Some times we need more than a book can provide:
we have a complicated history that makes the straight-forwardness of a book too simple
we need an accountability partner or a body-doubling partner
we need extra help with obstacles and barriers
we get high off the energy from a good container (it me. srsly tho- I'm an HSP/energetic person and just being around good energy in a container sets me on fire!)
I know, shopping online these days can be a bit scary. Full refunds are available within 48 hours of purchase. After that: no refunds will be granted.
I've been a movement instructor since 2013 and I have a ton of experience helping folks modify for injuries, comfort, pregnancy, and beyond. As long as you have clearance from a medical professional (doctor, OBGYN, physical therapist, etc.), then we are good to go!
I will always modify things to make them feel better. The point of embodiment is feel good = look good, so we want to make sure you're physically comfortable.

Yes I am! But you have to pick a lane: you're either a coaching client or a therapy client. Here's the difference:
Therapy: must reside in Louisiana or Florida. We will be unpacking and healing from trauma. Treatment for psychiatric diagnoses like PTSD, anxiety, and depression. And oh yeah- I'm also a sex therapist! More info here: www.groundedhealthnola.org
Coaching: must be working on a short-term goal (2 months or 6 months) that is under the umbrella of embodiment. More future oriented (but the past will come up too). Who do I want to become? What do I want the next chapter of my life to look like?
